The Spitty is looking good.

That DFS rocket would make a great Blitzbau kit.

The parts of the DFS fit perfectly and it is accurate- just the kit for a blitz build.

The spitfire is now complete, much is guesswork but it fills an unknown gap in the history of this fighter and because it was not a real aeroplane but a full-size wooden mock up based on discussion drawings the faults in the kit do not matter.

This is how the DFS looked yesterday, the cockpit was improved slightly and the wings and canopy are now on and a picture of this will be posted later tonight.

The wings and canopy have been fitted, pictures of the full size show that it carried an underwing pitot at some stage and as I prefer that I have filled the hole for the nose-mounted kit part and scratched a new underwing one from stretched sprue. work will pause as I complete my SRA-1 flying boat GB entry.

With the end in sight its time to get a move on now, luckily these kits do build rather easily. The canopy is now on and the model is ready to mask and paint which should be finished tonight.

With the extension to the end date I have finished this model alongside the Beech Expeditor.
The DFS is now painted and is finished.

Great work David. Two very impressive builds. It would be interesting to find out exactly what happened to the original mock up spitfire.

All the best.

Greg, the caption in the book says that it had been hoisted to the roof out of the way "prior to disposal" so it may not have lasted long after the picture was taken sometime in 1936.
