Ian points out, correctly, that the dihedral of the wing is pretty steep. On my build there was a need to pull down on the wingtips to get the wing unit attached to the root. Well, it worked. Good tight fit with no filler needed and it lowered the dihedral to what I think is the right level..

I found that leaving the mounting lugs on the flaps as per the instructions when building flaps down leaves a rather unsightly gap, twixt flap leading edge and wing, which is not as photos suggest. IMHO it is better to remove the lugs and position the flaps in the down position by eye. A narrower gap can be achieved which looks a lot better.

Agree. Plus the lugs are a little over sized making for a bulge in the wing at the attachment point.

Has anyone (other than Mike) looked at the decal placement instructions?
My sheet is numbered up to 47. The instructions on the other hand would only have me put 14 delcals on the model.....

I know where some of the stencils go but I am struggling with the rest. Anyone got some proper decal placement instructions?
I'm a mostly full-time modeller put a part-time poster....

I've put a reply in your build thread Ian as we are building the same boxing of the kit. To reiterate here, the decal placement details are at the rear of the paper instruction sheet (turn over after Stage 14) and the main decals such as the national markings are detailed on the bottom of the box.

If anyone would like to do a decal swap for the remainder of the Royal Yugoslav Airforce decal sheet for the Emil, I'd be happy to oblige.

There are enough decals to complete any one of 3 options, you'll have to source stencils from a donor kit, especially the wingwalk lines.

I'd like either some different Emil decals (non German) or some P-51D decals. I have the new Airfix P51D boxing, but I already have a Tuskagee Mustang from Tamiya...

Cheers

Okay chaps, end of the month coming up and all that. Jolly good show all round, but we need a big effort this weekend to get things finished off.

Stop smirking at the back Walker, I know you finished a GB for once...

Anyhow, some jolly splendid builds so far, keep up the good work

Don't worry O Great Leader, I am pleased with my efforts at finishing on time for once but not smug - pride and fall and all that stuff

I'm close,,, but I doubt I'll make it. I'll miss by a day or so. Last night didn't help me. I was so tired I went to bed rather then work on the 109.

I've decided to extend the deadline to midnight (your local time) on Sunday 3rd February, so that there's a weekend available for some modelling. Good work everyone, most of the kits are close to finishing if not already done.

cheers
