Re: mmD's Me262 Sturmv.. just kidding. It's another Emil
In the early 80's I used to have permed hair, flashed blonde (yes I did have to sit under one of those big dryers in what was almost exclusively a women's hairdressers, we didn't have "salons" in those days) so I can also easily forgive myself anything
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

All these sartorial confessions...
Some of my tie collection does date back to the late 70's with all that implies

You guys worry me greatly. Blonde perms, leather trousers, wide ties. I'm so glad I pretty much only wear jeans & t-shirts!

Check it out.. I can build a cockpit too!..
Washes and silvering done.. waiting for beige paint to dry on Tamiya tape for the belts.. I'm going to make this an open cockpit but will resist the temptation to get bogged down in bits for the interior: the moulded detail will do just fine.
The IP decals went on just fine for me: but mainly because, forewarned, I trimmed them to within an inch of their lives before applying..

Same here, my God did those decals get some attention from the scissors. The lower decal still played me up though. Nice work on your cockpit and naturally you will now go to add the trim wheels to left hand side and a throttle quadrant at the very least *. The devil is in the detail Mike. Stick with me and this build could stretch out for at least 2 months - great value on an hourly rate given that the kit was only six quidmightymikeD wrote:

You know where you can stick yer trim wheels, right? (on the left hand side of the seat, of course)
Fuselage closed, cockpit tub fitted nicely (but pretty snug). Engine has been in receipt of a greasy wash... dry brushing etc next..

Are you leaving the cowling off? If you don't all that lovely work on the engine will be hidden forever......

I'm planning on making it wheels down, canopy and cowling up.. but, that said, even if it was to be hidden, I'd still detail the engine.. I love painting engines for some bizarre reason.Ian wrote:Are you leaving the cowling off? If you don't all that lovely work on the engine will be hidden forever......
