easy display bases

Post by spaceman9684 »

im new here and just wanted to show how i make easy and cheap display bases for my 1/72 models, once you have all the materials it takes about ten to fifteen mins to do.

what you will need:
pva glue
cheap photo frame
scissors and brush
green flock
a tea bag or brown flock
and to print some conctrete basses off the net (google free printable ww2 concrete bases) the scale doesent really matter.

Image

step 1
take the frame apart and measure the concrete to how you want it to look using the backing of the frame and cut to shape.

Image

step 2
glue it down to the frame with the pva glue and put under something heavy for a min or so to flaten it out properly.

step 3
apply glue to remaining area slightly overlaping concrete, take your teabag or brown flock open it and sprinkle it on in little bits here and there.

Image

step 4
apply the green flock all over leave for a min then shake it off.

Image

step 5
put it all back into the frame with or without the glass your choice i like to keep the glass on it.

Image

step 6
add model of choice.

step 7
add some figures

and your done.

you can do this for different size frames and it only takes 20 mins at max to make.
thnx for looking.
