Airfix HO/OO Waterloo British Cavalry (Hussars) 01743

Post by Ratch »

While sorting out this morning I found these. Must be at least 20 years since I painted them :ha:

Nice work on a plastic that doesn't take paint too easily if I recall.

Three years after painting them I finally got round to mounting the French 4er Régiment de Hussards (St. Laurent)

Currently on book 6 in the Sharpe series, so I'm loving all these figures at the moment Ratch.

Cheers Nigel  I must watch the DVD set again
Vanity Fair is on our screens on Sunday nights ATM and last week was Waterloo (though I wasn't impressed with the uniform depictions)

Another set completed.
The British, following the instructions in the Waterloo Gift Set and not really accurate. The drummer is painted as a French 7th Hussard and the Trumpeter and flag bearer as 5th Hussards.

Hurrah for the Hussars :-D :-D

Still think you have far far more patience than me!
Best wishes

My last five figures. The bases had gone AWOL and they have been painted as French musicians and sappers.

This whole series you have done is fantastic - I commend you on your research, modeling, and 'stick-to-it-ive-ness'.

I'm not sure what company could afford that. Etling's 4 volume Napoleonic Uniforms is not restricted to Waterloo but gives an idea of the effort that would be required. Still I agree with you.
