Operation Greif: This is not the way to Ambleve
I used Miniart's 1/35 Country road and U.S. Bantam 40 with crew for this little diorama. The vegetation was from various places although I made the grass clumps myself with a static grass applicator.

Beautifully credible figures and nicely set against the backdrop Titan.

That is incredibly good model work and very clever photo backdrops. It looks so realistic!

Brilliantly done Mark; very realistic indeed
Best wishes

What can I say, the models are just wonderful but with the photo background it's lifelike !!

The backdrop really sets off this albeit simple but delightful dio.

Re: Operation Greif: This is not the way to Ambleve
Thanks gentlemen I'm glad you liked it, I certainly enjoyed making it though at the start it wasn't really planned I just had the kits in the stash. The base came with a cart which I was going to use on it's own with a couple of French farmers around it but I couldn't find them..( I think they must have been liberated...) so I used the Bantam instead as it had crew as well.
The backdrop was a public domain photo I found online so I blew it up to 30in x 20 in and stuck it on a cork notice board, the photo though had a gloss finish so I sprayed it with some inkjet spray matte varnish which worked very well. Whilst taking the photos I adjusted the height and position of the backdrop just for variety .

Outstanding Mark, that really is a fine diorama and the photography is also very well done making the scene appear very realistic - I can almost hear those soldiers talking to each other I presume decals were provided for the figure's unit patches and what have you or else you have a very steady hand!

Thanks Shaun but I can only wish that I could paint unit markings that good in 1/35 alas no those were the decals that came with the kit.

Re: Operation Greif: This is not the way to Ambleve
Great idea to have the illusion of them being on a rise in a valley: that's what really sets this off (along with the static grass... new to me: things have clearly come on since I last used railway modellers' dyed sawdust!)
I see that they also do pre-formed clumps on sticky pads http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WWS-100-Self- ... 2227750052... probably useful for basing single figures/small groups.
