The lancer is back on my bench as I start to add the horse tac.

That's coming along nicely.
I'm no expert so please don't take this as a criticism, but, I'd give the horse a very light coat of a semi gloss varnish. To my eye, the coat looks a little too matt. Not that I've done a lot of mounted figures, just a personal observation. It's entirely up to you.

Cheers Nigel, That's an excellent point, initially when I gave the horse an oil wash it finished up with a very uneven shine, so I gave it a matt coat, I like your suggestion of the semi matt coat as it will give the horse a hard worked look.

I had the scott's greys kit in the early 70's. they were highly detailed. yours looks great.
