Sticking "Grass" to plastic.

Post by DH-Drover »

I am building two 1/12 Airfix Figures, The Show Jumper and the Bengal Lancer X2 and need to adhere a sheet of paper backed grass to the plastic bases. What I would like to know is what adhesive to use to stick it down? I have Aialdite, contact adhesive,
or plastic crment.
Any ideas?

Maybe just a thin coat of good old PVA.

I would agree with Nigel if the bases are relatively flat. If not then a thin coat of Araldite should sort it! Pritstick might be worth a try too

PVA won't stick sheet grass to plastic. Try a smearing of UHU or Bostick type glue. Afterwards; spray the grass with hairspray or varnish to keep the grass on the paper.
Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..
Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Try primer first on the plastic then the grass sheet will stick using PVA because the primer will allow the PVA glue to grip on the plastic.

I'm sure I used PVA to stick down this grass mat
