Ian Gillan, Deep Purple circa 1970.
From Mini Art 1/16 Gladiator.
Not very happy with this one. On the Mini Art website the sprue shot for the Gladiator figures face looked the image of Ian Gillans, I thought, even though the body would need major work and scratchbuilt legs and right arm.
However, on opening the box the face was badly lopsided with the right eye noticeably lower than the left. I kinda lost the mojo after that so this is really just cobbled together.

I have the Mini Art gladiator, and now that you mention it, I do see the figure's resemblance to Ian Gillan!
We are our own worst critics - I think you rendition looks terriffic!

Cheers chaps. I've met Ian a few times so I was hoping to make a good job of this and forked out more than I normally would just to get a face, torso and one arm!
Thanks Tim, is the face on your kit lopsided too, or did I just get a duff one?Tim Reynaga wrote:I have the Mini Art gladiator, and now that you mention it, I do see the figure's resemblance to Ian Gillan!
