That's shaping up really nice Greg, plenty of colour in those markings.

Cheers Shaun. (Was nice meeting up with you at the Huddersfield show btw) The model certainly looks nice and just about as I remember first seeing the aircraft at the RAF Finningley airshows many years ago.
The model's finished and here are the pics.

Start of play earlier tonight.

Getting there, almost done.

Finished, Port undercarriage still a little weak so there's a paint jar under the wingtip.

Cheers for watching and for the encouragement. Admittedly my hand painting of the checkered cowl could have been better but it is the first time I have attempted anything like that and I was at a loss on a way to mask it successfully,
Better shots will be posted to the album shortly.

All the best.

Nice work Greg and I think the checks have worked pretty well - it's not something I've ever tried to paint either. I very much enjoyed our chat as well, the Huddersfield show is a great event and I could have stayed all afternoon had it not been for work commitments  Those Finningley shows were great, such a shame it's now an airport!

Agreed, and an airport with a bl**dy silly name at that. I wish they would somehow manage to get those airshows back, especially as it's only a few miles from me now.

All the best.

Looks great Greg. Can't see anything wrong with the checks at all.

Cheers Narayan.
They don't look too bad for a first attempt but I may re-do them at a later date.

All the best.

Looks great. I really am going to have to find time this year to pull at least one of these out of the stash.

Have to agree with the others, that does look great.
I hope that Revell box is empty as it's laying sideways, otherwise you'll have a surprise opening it up! :-D

Lovely work Greg! The checkered cowl looks fine, and the overal finish looks spot on. Two airshows I miss the most are Finningley and Mildenhall and the Sally B was always important at both...

Cheers for the kind words folks. I miss the Mildenhall and Lakenheath shows too, They were one of my favourites too.
I'll leave the paint pot upright for a little while before I use it ;-) so no big black puddles on the workbench.

All the best.

Nice one Greg, I remember that old scheme from the Flying Legends at Duxford way back when in the 80's. Smashing job and well done.
