The wings are here joined to the fuselage and the filler has been applied to the uppersurface gap.
Image

With the filler smoothed down the airframe is now ready for primer, I did get carried away on this and with my internet severely
restricted carried blithely on, a few photo opportunities were skipped from the basic, unpainted airframe to the model in the same
state painted, decalled and varnished.

That's a mean camo scheme. Looks stunning!

Thanks Sissel, it was based on the kit drawings but altered in a few places to match photographs of the real thing.

Very nice David, the Belle looks a peach - nice bit of exhaust staining too, how did you do that on this particular model?

Shaun, all I did to get that effect was to sand down the lead of an ordinary graphite pencil to make a powder, I then dabbed a little on the wing in the appropriate place and wiped it away with the line of the airflow, building it up in layers until I got the depth of staining I felt looked right.

Superb job, David! You can be very pleased with that. One day I'm gonna build the Memphis Belle myself. If it comes out half as good as yours I will be happy.
Smart way of doing the exhaust staining too.
