Re: Titan's Carolina Moon
Thanks Ian but there is more.....
I stripped the decals off, micromeshed over and then masked and sprayed some Tamiya red with a few drops of black in it to take the brightness down all went well and looked good until I looked at it this morning and found that it was going to need a few more passes with the airbrush.
So this afternoon I re-masked and sprayed a few more coats of red on top of the paint already down and this time was successful.
I also decided it was time to unmask all of the windows and apart from a little bit of clean up especially around the rear gunners position on the whole I am pretty pleased with them.
A day of rest tomorrow then I will start adding the frames around the cockpit etc. and also get both the turrets finished.
Regards
Mark

This looks fantastic. You've done a wonderful job with it.
Confused as always, and somewhere in hiding on the Scandinavian peninsula...
Re: Titan's Carolina Moon
Great recovery with the decals. Let's hope the rest of the work is trouble free!
I'm a mostly full-time modeller put a part-time poster....

Re: Titan's Carolina Moon
Thanks all for the comments.
These will be the last set of update pictures and the next time you see this build will be when it is completed honest.....
The cockpit, cheek gun area, radio op and bombardier areas have had the frames added.
So between now and the end of this GB I will finish the frames on both turrets and add all of the dangly bits and some weathering and that will be the end of this build.....
Oh and matt the OD panels down and add the nav lights and ummm...........
Regards

Great build. Almost there too. This should be our first finish.
All the best.

Re: Titan's Carolina Moon
Thanks all.
Well I am calling this one finished, there are like with most builds a few more things that could be done to it but progressive handling is starting to take it's toll on the finish so I will stop while I am ahead.
I have never used Alclad on a model this big before, in fact the last model I did Alclad was a 1/72 spitfire so I am pleased how this turned out and the experience with Alclad here will be useful for when I start the F-86D.
The model itself was fine to build and apart from the dihedral of the main wings there was nothing here that caused any serious problems.
Here tis....
Thanks all for looking in and best of luck with your builds.

Wow, fantastic finish. There's just something about that B-17. You've made it look superb!
