Today I brushed on Vallejo 163 70868 Dark Seagreen on the upper surfaces...

I was really impressed with the coverage and application, a delight to use

Very nice Richard, Vellejo paints are excellent for brush painting and pretty good for spraying too.

Yes, I'd forgotten how good  I have about 200 tinlets of enamels and I hate wasting stuff, so have been trying to use it up :ha: However, Mrs Ratch doesn't like the smell of it (and White Spirit), and now we share a craft room, so I've bitten the bullet and replaced all my enamels with acrylic equivalents (mostly Vallejo)

Had a bit of a disaster with Tamiya tape lifting the Vallejo paintwork

A good argument for a nice silver undercoat .... :)

I hate it when that happens, seemingly randomly ... I hope it's repairable without too much fuss ....

That's a bummer with the paint lifting Ratch. I often apply gloss coat before using masking tape and find that gives the paint a better degree of protection. Of course doing so does lengthen the painting process, as the gloss coat has to dry first, but it's a real PITA when the masking tape does that.

I shall continue and spray the green then, when I've removed the tape, brush the seagreen back in
That's the plan anyway :ha:

Looking good despite the problem with the tape, Can't wait to see the finished model.

All the best.

Odd, I've never had a problem with Vallejo under Tamiya tape.
Vallejo is great to brush paint, and I have thrown out most of my enamels.
The B-17 looks really good.
Confused as always, and somewhere in hiding on the Scandinavian peninsula...

Annoying about the paint lifting, hope it looks just as good when you fix it up

Well I started masking everything, and I got so far when I thought why not just open spray the green. I've got to cut back in with the grey. So that's what I did :ha:

As expected the tape lifted more paint... more in some places than others...

I cut the grey back in and I might just have got away with it
