Post by JohnRatzenberger »

A continuation of the Wild Weather GB thread from GB Chat.

This is the place to sign-up for the Wild Weather GB', state your entry, chat with others who are joining the GB.

Your GB Leader, Motley, will fill in the necessary details, but for right now the eligible subjects are anything -- airplane, car, tank, ship, etc -- with a weather-related name, in any language.

Im here now :) As jRatz has said above me the main idea for this one is build a subject of anything that has a weather related name in any language. You can build a ship, a tank or a plane aslong as the name is something to do with weather.

Below is a quick list of planes tyou could build:

Hawker Hurricane
Hawker Tempest
Hawker Typhoon
Hawker Sea Fury
Saro Cloud
Westland Whirlwind (fighter)
Lockheed P-38 Lightning
Republic P-47 Thunderbolt

Handley Page Jetstream
Westland Whirlwind (helicopter)

English Electric Lightning
Paniava Tornado
Eurofighter Typhoon
Republic F-84F Thunderstreak
Republic F-84 Thunderjet
North American B-45 Tornado
A-10 Thunderbolt II
F-35 Lightning II

Arado Ar 234 Blitz (Lightning)
Messerschmitt Bf 108 Taifun (Typhoon)
Heinkel He 70 Blitz (Lightning)
Macchi C.200 Saetta (Thunderbolt)
Macchi C.202 Folgore (Thunderbolt)
Mitsubishi J2M Raiden (Thunderbolt)

If anyone has a subject they arent to sure about just post it up in here and we will see if it is eligible or not for the GB. The main thing is to enjoy yourself and have fun so everyone ccome on in join up and have fun while the weather has fun outside (While writing this is is currently snowing :ha: )

Thanks,
Tom

Aaargh! I want to join this GB with the Brengun Typhoon, but if I do I know I've no chance of finishing my B-17 . . .

Life is full of dilemmas.

Good one on the Minekaze class, Andrew !

Unsure about availability of kits, but there are numerous vessels, from various eras, bearing these names:
HMS Thunder
HMS Lightning
HMS Tornado
HMS Hurricane
HMS Rainbow
HMS Tradewind
HMS Cyclone
and of course, HMS Thunderer ....

I'll be joggling the Heller's C.714 Cyclone in some (probably Polish markings) if allowed.

Having looked at the amount of work required to do my old Typhoon, I thought I would have a go at a new Typhoon as well, namely the Airfix Eurofighter Typhoon.

I've watched "Run Silent Run Deep" too many times... :)

The USN has 14 Cyclone class patrol craft, all with Wild Weather names. Does anyone do a kit?

Cheers

Andrew

PS There's also HM Submarine Thunderbolt (ex "Thetis") from WW2
