Neat work Chip, are you going with the grey scheme or do soemthing radical, like a dark earth, dark green, and use the Spitfire AZoH decals?

Looking good so far, looks like the not so good fit seems to be easy enough to deal with, as above any ideas on th scheme yet?

Does it come with meteor missiles? That would be amazingly farsighted from Airfix

I was building this totally OOB, including the paint scheme. The paint supplied for the fuselage is Hu 167. After applying it the colour just looks wrong, more beige than grey, so after a few hours of deliberation I have re-sprayed it in light grey.

Bruce (Merlin Jones) pointed out that the kit was first released in 1990, back before we really knew what the Eurofighter would look like. Very basic in detail and ordnance, as compared to the newer and accurate Revell.

They only provide 2 x AIM-132 ASRAAM, and 6 X AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles. These have been painted and decaled as per the instructions. Again the colours for the missiles looks unusual, but hey-ho....

Since this picture I have painted the tips of the AIM-120's white.

Still technically correct as meteor is yet to be operational :). These amraams do not look that bad at all.

Over the weekend I have been lumbering away at getting all the decals on:

I was not going to put them all on, as most of them are tiny but as there are no prominent decals, I decided that the overall bland grey colour scheme required something to add interest to it, hence 90% of the decals have been applied.

The updated decals go a long way to helping this kit to make a fair model of the Typhoon. If if wasn't for the appalling fit of the intake (which appears to be visible on the box cover) I would recommend this as a good starter kit as it's pretty simple otherwise. Your paint finish looks great and the missiles will add a much need splash of colour.

Thanks guys. I am calling this one finished now:

The ordnance colouring when fitted to the aircraft doesn't look too bad:

Here it is on the stand, awaiting the Spitfire to be completed:

You've certainly cranked up the production rate Chip!
