Ouch, I bet they watered for a while though.
You are not kidding Chip! He's a very strong little lad...

Anyhow, the nose is feeling much better today, I was a bit worried that he'd broken it...
Hopefully I'll be able to get on with the Tempest this evening, although things are piling up in the metaphorical "In tray" at work.

cheers

I was able to try to sort out the blemishes on the wings tonight and respray.

Image

It's still not perfect, but the rest of the finish is quite satisfactory.

The prop also got masked and painted black and the spinner was primed.

cheers

We've certainly had the wild weather here in Ottawa. In the space of three days we've had 10 cm snow, freezing rain, the second warmest January day ever (11.6 C), and now the big freeze.
It's not helped the modelling time one bit
I'm still holding out some hope of doing something this evening, assuming number two son goes to sleep at a reasonable hour

Well, it is a wild weather build group, lives up to its name. I think we're importing some of the same arctic air right now, with the jetstream well down south.

Well, guess who didn't go to sleep at a reasonable time?

I did manage to spray the spinner with Vallejo Air Wood! :)

And here is the said spinner at top left.

I need to paint the cockpit surround and get the canopy on. Then I can assemble most of the rest of the kit.

cheers

Mayo can only come on fries in the french baguette :). May be a plastic one, may should be resin though.

Salt and vinegar on chips is the only way to serve them :ha:

Here's the picture of tonight's effort:

Image

Painting the bit behind the pilot in dark grey. Exciting isn't it? :)

No more modelling tonight, as I slipped on a patch of ice (actually the whole pathway was a rink) and sprained my wrist.
I seem to be all right at typing, but that's about it. I couldn't even lift my mug of tea up to drink it. That's a serious medical condition for an Englishman! :ha:

cheers

I've managed to get the canopy framing done, using Bare Metal Foil, and I've also assembled most of the prop. It still needs fixing permanently, but I'll only do that after decalling.

Image

Undercarriage will be looked at next. I have this feeling that I forgot to paint the tail wheel doors.

cheers
