1/72 and 1/48 scale make sense if you measure in inches and feet, but 1/100 is 1 cm to 1 metre, which would be much more intuitive for those folks used to metric measurements.

List of kits here

The scale makes total sense, its just the quality that let's it down.

Oh dear! That is a bit tragic, isn't it? Reminds me of my Revell P-38, unfortunately!

Hi Splash,

it is definitely Tamiya, but early 1970s Tamiya (I remember when they were first released  ). That explains the fit.

I'm just about to start the Airfix 1/72 F1.A, so enjoy (even if your kit does have more parts!) :-D

I saw the Dragon Tonkas on many occasions as well at the Tamiya Lightening and considered buying them as fun builds a few times, so happy I used restraint now!

I am looking forward to seeing your lightning done.

After a rub down and a coat of silver it's not turned out to bad.

That's definitely looking like English Electric's finest product. :) (although their cookers were quite good, they just didn't have the rate of climb of the Lightning).

EE fridges do not go Mach 2. Last time I checked. Splash, I really like what you did with it so far.

Looking good Splash. Personally I can't get use to seeing pods on the top of the wings. It's just so odd to me

I totally agree I feel the same about the sidewinders on the Jaguar it just does not look right.

I had no choice but fit them as Tamiya had dug big trenches in the wings for them to fit into and it would take to long to fill without loosing the surface detail on the wings.

Looking very good now. The overwing pods certainly give it a unique appearance :). You don't see that feature on many fridges. :ha:

My parents used to have one of their fridges, totally reliable- it lasted for years.
Their trams at Blackpool are quite cool too.
