Thanks guys. I have started to get a bit of colour on:

Image

I forgot the white stripes on the tail and rudder, which I would have preferred to have done after the primer stage. :???:

Only a little bit of progress, as I have been away for a few days:

Image

I am currently awaiting some Humbrol DecalFix to arrive at the LMS so that I can get this one finished.....

Decals on, using Humbrol's new DecalFix. It goes on to matt paint so no need for a Klear coat, and is applied before and after (similar to Micro set/sol but only the one bottle):

Image

The decals have conformed nicely to the wing detail, with no silvering visible. Unfortunately the decals are slightly out of register, but a bit of touching up should improve them:

Image

A coat of matt varnish should get rid of the slight shine seen in the above picture. Then I just need to attach the u/c, so I should be able to finish this within the deadline...

Doh.......Whilst putting the u/c on I managed to push the one piece gun barrels into the body of the wing.

After much shaking and poking around, followed by considerable deliberation, I have decided to fill the holes and then attach some stretched sprue to replace them.

And I was soooo close to finishing.

Don't you just hate that towards the end of a build! I hope your stretched sprue works well

Thankfully managed to get this one finished with no further calamities:

Quite pleased with the way it came out in the end, though as Andrew said previously it definitely needs re-tooling.
