Blitzbau XII -- Rules, Sign-up, and Chat

Post by JohnRatzenberger »

Here's the usual rules -- your GB Leader, Jssel, will fix them up as he sees fit.

Any time from Friday 1 February through Sunday 3 March.

Any subject, any scale, any kit -- unstarted, no whining.

Built in a 24-hour period (not 24 building hours). The only alternative, AKA the "wuss" or "senior-citizen" option, is to break the build into TWO approximately equal sessions on consecutive days and the gap between sessions shouldn't be much more than 12 hours.

Photos to be taken with a visible clock, at reasonable intervals throughout the build to document progress -- one hour is typical but may be a bit much -- but do remember the more frequent the posting, the better the interaction and that's what a Blitzbau is all about.

A gallery photo should be posted of the "state of play" at the end of 24 hours, which should also be posted WITHIN 24 hours of "finishing".

Extra non-credit is given for uniqueness of the clock, the on-plate presentation of the meals to be consumed, spousal interruptions (eruptions?), among other things, always remembering this is a family-friendly forum.

As always, sign-up here then create your own thread when you are ready. It's always good to create your thread a few days early and give your intentions so others can schedule watching time.

As always, Have Fun !!!

Always game on for a blitz.

My wife is off to Scotland on the 9th and its the Yeovilton model show on the same day so I'm looking to start late on the 9th through to the 10th, I have several kits to choose from and will make up my mind closer to the start date.

Roll on Blitz day

Ok. Welcome aboard all. I love the Blitzbau so you see me a lot.

John summed uo the rules. I like flexibility but the rules are the rules.

I'll be in this GB though it will be towards the end of February before I can start it.
So after looking through my build list for the year I have decided on using the Emhar Tadpole for my Blitz subject ...oh and there will be no "wuss" or "senior-citizen" option on this GB from me as it will be done in one 24hr session... :smilie_flagge3:

I am in. Have a contest over the weekend of the 16th so have to decide if I want to try and do the build before and maybe have it to take or wait till later in the month.

Currently thinking the Revell 72nd DR1 my wife gave me for Christmas. Maybe a little complicated for me for a Blitz but all red helps.

I'm hoping to fit in at least a couple during the month. I'm thinking of doing an Airfix Chipmunk and German Recce Set.

I love a Blitz, it's the only form of GB that I have a 100% finishing record.

I'll be in, maybe twice. I have it in mind to do one or two of the Dragon 1/6 scale machineguns and/or the Vulcan 1/35 2-pdr. The only aircraft that caught my eye is the CMR 1/72 A.W. FK.10 but that might be pushing it. I don't think I have any ships unless it's an old Lindberg LST or tugboat.

I may start as early as this weekend, as the last half of the month is a bit crowded for me ...

I just uncovered the old Lindberg/Pyro Monitor and Merrimac set buried deep in my stash. Hmmmmmm...........two different scales but what the heck. Maybe, could be. Like the Navy says, "Stand by to stand by, there might be a maybe."
