The Blitzbau House is back
The date has been set for the 24th Feb at 2pm GMT.
I am rounding up the usual suspects (it's a bit like herding cats! )
There will be plenty of frolicking, some fine food (a Parmo for sure ) & drink, plus a promise of less nudity. Sorry to disapoint.
Oh, and the prospect of some model making.
I am in with a very old Heller Tempest Mk V – Instructions & decals supplied by Mufv, wheels kindly donated by lancfan.
Thanks guys.
Will firm up details of the other builds ASAP.
Hope you can join us.

This I will be looking forward to OT. Parmo and nudity? my goodness I'll need parental supervision to be able to watch!

Folks, we now have a blitzbau.
Besting 60 years of mediocre building of average kits in the stand off scale

Re: The Blitzbau House is back
It's an ambition of mine to arrange a house party around one of OT's blitzhaus extravaganzas. I feel it will never be realised but I can dream.
Would ya like to learn to fly? Would ya? Would you like to see me try?

Re: The Blitzbau House is back
Houseparty?. I'm there. Seriously though I've been digging in the stash and although I have more than enough Blitz fodder in there I can't decide what to build. Not that there are loads I want to and can't choose it's that there is nothing that is screaming ''BUILD ME''. I have probably about 20 kits in front of me as I type and there are models that are perfect for Blitzing, Airfix Spitfire MK1, Matchbox SB2C Helldiver Academy Mig21 and 27. and plenty of others. Ho hum. What's to do eh chaps and lady, I need my Blitz mojo back.
All the best.

Pick five, stick up a poll and let this drunken rabble pick one for you...
or, in Flak's case, invent something you hadn't even thought about

Re: The Blitzbau House is back
That's the problem. I can't even narrow it down. Nothing at all is shouting build me, with the exception of a few of models that even with 24 totally uninterrupted hours, a packet of pro-plus and copious amounts of coffee to keep me awake I couldn't Blitz.
I'll sleep on it and have another look in the stash. I may even take the time to go rummage through that mess of plastic I call a loft. One model did look interesting earlier but I blitzed one for the last Blitzbau, The Matchbox Gladiator. I have a Siskin but the undercarriage put me off attempting that for a blitz as I had trouble with the last one I built.
Blow it. I'll have a look right now for a box of kits I have near by and grab the first one that my hand gets hold of (without looking) and that's what I will Blitz.
Back in a few mins.

Re: The Blitzbau House is back
Am back.
OK. I have my 'victim' in front of me. It is an Airfix Hurricane MK1, It's a beautifully painted bit of artwork with the aircraft firing it's guns and the box has the red star with the word NEW on it. On opening the box I guess the decals are shot. The tracing paper is very well stuck on the decal sheet and I think it's useless but I am certain I have aftermarket for this. The parts look fine and I will certainly build this one. If memory serves me correctly I had planned on whiffing this with a set of PM Spitfire floats but I will get another for that one.
So there we have my victim. It may goad me into building more for the Blitzbau.
All the best.
