Waiting for the gloss varnish to dry at the moment (it's acrylic so this should not take too long) then the decals can go down, the original 1996 Airfix roundels are in the wrong colours so I will replace these with some others from Xtradecal sheet X72041. Looking at pictures for refs I found original shots of this same aeroplane in the same colours that Airfix used and also a later scheme with the same UAS but wearing Dayglo panels and anti-spin strakes, yet another option for this kit.

One fully decalled Chipmunk, will have a brew now whilst the decals dry off and will then matt varnish the airframe.

This is how it looks now, all that remains here is to attach the canopy, mainwheels, exhaust & propeller and paint the nose anti-glare panel and the model is finished. The next picture you see will be of the finished model.

Almost finished now, the canopy and windscreen are in place, the brake lines have been fitted to the undercarriage and the propeller has been glued on. The canopy frames are currently being painted with the black already down.

Down to the wire eh David? Well, the armchair didn't snatch this one from the jaws of victory  That is an excellent looking Chippy, give yourself a pat on the back for a great finish.

Great build. Well done mate. I'm going to have to get one or two of mine done after seeing yours.

All the best.
