Sissels Swedish Photo Rec Spitfire ** FINISHED **

Post by Sissel »

The Norwegian PR I was gonna do I thought was PR XIX, but it's PR XI. ** so much for not paying attention! ** :-D :-D
Should have gotten hold of MPM's 1/72 Spitfire PR XI kit. Quick stop by Hannants and it's on its way! Which also means a new tool F22 (never too many Spits in the stash!) and an Eduard Ilyushin Il-2 to fill up the minimum quota for ordering.

I think I should do our lovely neighbour friends, the infamous Swedes, a favor (or not?!) by building this in Swedish colors. My first Swedish aircraft. 8-)

If I do manage another blitz this month, I think the only time I could squeeze one in will be that last weekend.

Cracking build, Splash!
You've now set the standard for this build.
Do you know which shade of blue it's suppose to be? The Norwegian one is close to FS 35164 or 24148 I think. Maybe same for the Swedish?

It's a blitz. Any old blue will do (just don't tell the Swedes I said that). Have a look in your "just chuck it in" drawer :ha:

I cant remember what colour i used but I agree with Shaun, I don't worry about the accuracy of colours if it looks right then that's good enough for me.

I don't have the kit in front of me at the moment, but isn't it PRU blue all over (Humbrol 230)?

I grabbed the megaphone, climbed the roof and shouted all I could. No answer, I am so disappointed :frown:

That's what the instructions says yes, but I think it's more correct to mix ww1 blue with raf blue (or maybe that mix is H230, heck I don't know).
I don't have any of them. I tested Vallejo intermediate blue, should be close enough. Shaun and Splash (Alan was it?) is right, not that big a deal for a blitz, and certainly not that big a deal for JUST A SWEDISH AIRCRAFT !

Continuing to look at my stash thinking.. is it blitzable :-D

Let's start early with some good music
Love the lyrics of this song.

Ok we're off.
I am STUFFED. Out with the gang earlier resulted in homemade lasagne, pizza leftovers, waffles and muffins!

Image

Think I will start from left to right. First into the glass is passion fruit liquor from Madeira. I had to smuggle some bottles in. Darn customs!

Image

Chocolate, just in case I need some energy. And some interior bits painted. I'm gonna use black for details. Will start painting pilot once glue dry, and yeah..

Starting slow with the music today, this is a good one.
