That is a hell of a balancing act, the nose wheel is just hovering above the surface. I've never managed to get one to do that. Usually I don't have enough weight and the thing sits firmly on its tail or I have a little too much and the nose wheel oleo is threatening to bend under the strain
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

I know, quite incredible. I bet you if I added a third layer of red paint that would make it touch the ground.
Then there is the ehem.. slim weight of decals to go on. :-D

Possibly, but you'll have to account for the tape you have removed ....
I was going to suggest you file down the spinner to correct the profile, but that wouldn't help tail sitting so I won't ...

Maybe we could do a "balancing GB" ....

It's my model and I'll do what I want with it.

Maybe we could do a "balancing GB"
Or a "Pulling A Wheelie" GB... that skill we all tried so hard to achieve on BMXs and Raleigh Choppers (I know better than to use the term "Chopper" on its own in this crowd)..

Now so easy to accomplish with every single Hobbyboss kit, apparently.

It's now finished, not thanks to the horrible decals. I almost had a disaster. Well I did have one, but managed to fix it just in time.
Funnily enough, some decals were easy to move once on the model, others were not and sat rock hard once on. This resulted in the stars on each side of fuselage not laying opposite eachother and one tail decal too far down. Annoying as hell.
One other thing is these decals are LARGELY OVERSIZED! Quite annoying. One star also decided to crumble when I tried to move it, I put tons of microset on the model, used a needle to prick open and lift the decal and move it back, offcourse it wouldn't move to where I wanted it, but atleast I fixed the crumbleness, which looked like it had been to war.

And as I feared, thanks to the weight of the decals we have a tail sitter again, but I don't care. The headache is so bad I will fix this another day. I've coated it with matt after pics were taken.

Beautiful work on the ol dog, Sissel.

Hey, I have built two 1/48 scale P-39's and it is difficult to find places for the nose weights.

It does look good in Russian markings.

Great job dealing with the decals.

I think it looks fantastic especially considering its a blitz. The only thing I noticed is I believe the wing stars are reversed between the top and bottom.

Thanks guys!
Flash, small fit issues and decals is what brings this kit down, old dog, yep. Never seen so much flash in my life.

Yeah, I know Dirk. I noticed that after.
I was in automode and followed instructions, I did stop and think for a few seconds that it seemed odd, but instead of running down two stories and checking I just went with the instructions. Big mistake. :-D

Anyhow that just makes it more attractive seen underneath :ha:

I did fill both sides of the front with led. There was room for a bit more. Maybe it's different in 1/48?
Tomorrow I'm gonna see what I will do about it.

Thank you. Under the circumstances I'm sorta pleased with it. Decal session was a let down, but one can't have everything.

That, as we all know, is a pig of a kit. You've done a cracking job in 24 hours. Well done!
And I also think it looks good with red stars on it.
