It's a pretty basic kit, not a big fan of the seperate tail plane piece though. Still a fast build and I saved time by not painting the cockpit, will do that later.
Clock says 12:00 not too clear in the pic
a pic of the optional ordance
I've also painted the wings and stabilisers white as instead of using the white decal stripes.
Did someone say White Stripes??

That is quick work! And I agree about the separate tail section. It's very strange and entirely unnecessary in 1:72, if you want my opinion!
I'm a mostly full-time modeller put a part-time poster....

Thanks Ian. The tail section is a pain but not as annoying as the 3 piece cowling on their Zero!Ian wrote:That is quick work! And I agree about the separate tail section. It's very strange and entirely unnecessary in 1:72, if you want my opinion!
Anyway, latest pic

Wow, how fast is this build?! Great work Saxon. Academy are having a laugh with that separate tail section though, what's that all about?
Good time saving idea with the cockpit painting BTW.

Re: Saxon's Academy P-51B 1/72 scale **On the Go**
Will have it done soon I think. I really need to tidy the workbench, I have been Group Building since Christmas without stopping to tidy up!
Thanks for your comments Ian & Shaun. Here is the latest..
I had some problem with the prop, the nose and the base, the locating pins didn't fit and I had to cut them away. Then had to brush up the red. I hate it when the parts that I think will be easy aren't!!! So the red looks a little worn now.

There are few things worse than the "easy" parts becoming a nightmare! Still, it looks great Saxon. A slightly weathered spinner doesn't detract from it at all IMHO.

You have a red nose on it. Thats all you need
