Re: Flakmonkey's BIG Blitz **underway… hmmm**
A little slow on the updates here. Sorry.
First batch of parts painted, detailed, dry brushed, Kleared and washed with oil paint thinned with lighter fluid. They need to wait a while for their flat coat. Suppose i could start the next truckload of parts…
Throw another groovy kitsch log on the fire, vicar…

Oh well. No picture right now. Should be one soon.

My collection of bits has grown. Not by much, but it's grown.
It's time to make fabric seat belts and decal the instruments, but I'm not doing that until I've had sleep. Laterz, potaterz.
One of the very best episodes of Fringe was the one with Peter Weller called "White Tulip". If the final scene doesn't leave you with something in your eye, you have no soul. And this is in it too…

That pile of parts does look impressive, Flak. Are you hand-stitching your own fabric belts or are you employing the TVW to do those?

I see a bit of work went on here amongst all the cheese. Very nice it looks too, however, if you're building the interior you might as well go the whole hog and build the stuff that goes around it. A proper blitzer would you know.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Re: Flakmonkey's BIG Blitz **underway… hmmm**
Morning.
I shall be continuing shortly as soon as I work through the list of amendments I have just been sent for a job I did yesterday. Typos in a client's copy are now my fault, apparently. Despite it clearly saying in our T&Cs that we are not responsible for typographical errors in their text. One can only imagine that if they didn't spot that, then they also won't be spotting the difference between the prices on their quote and their invoice. Such is life. Firm but fair.
Then I would need a Small Vegetarian Wife. So no. They're like this…Ian wrote:That pile of parts does look impressive, Flak. Are you hand-stitching your own fabric belts or are you employing the TVW to do those?

Paper belts with PE buckles? An ideal Christmas gift for the man with too much time on his hands! Or for Flak doing a Blitz!
Are the belts printed on the back as well, Flak, so that you can have the folded back over themselves or twisted round?

Ah.. I feel that pain.. and so does this chap (it's web design but close enough to the experience of doing any design work for someone else)Typos in a client's copy are now my fault, apparently. No. But they look quite nice…Ian wrote:Are the belts printed on the back as well, Flak, so that you can have the folded back over themselves or twisted round?
Much nicer, in fact, than PE stuff and there is even some skill involved. Which removes most of the guilt factor.
Wonderful isn't it. They just sent 1 1/2 pages of A4 to fill a quarter A4 page blank space. Typesetting is one thing. Expanding paper is quite another. I may go out.mightymikeD wrote:Ah.. I feel that pain.. and so does this chap…

Re: Flakmonkey's BIG Blitz **underway… hmmm**
A further outbreak of finished parts…
The instrument panels have been fitted up with Mike Grant's decals and the glass represented with dabs of Glue'n'Glaze. That's not Gentleman's Relish in the dials, ok. That will dry perfectly clear and very glossy shortly. Good stuff.
The bloke in the back has some very nicely printed maps courtesy of the HW set. These are tiny works of art and represent Greece, Crete and Norway to match the Revell kit's decal options. Just wonderful.
The machineguns have had their muzzles drilled out before painting with Alclad steel. A wash of black oil paint thinned with lighter fluid followed, then a flat coat, a bit of a treatment with Mig Pigments' gunmetal powder and a drybrush with Citadel chain mail. These are really nicely moulded little items too, well worth spending a little time on. The firewall has also been done as you may have spotted.
Now, if people would stop calling me with yet more amendments their blind proof reader didn't quite manage to pick up the first time around (or the second, third, fourth, fifth or sixth times…) we may just get some glue out here. Then again, it could all still go very badly Pete Tong; guess which female Blitzbau celebrity has a day off today?

Re: Flakmonkey's BIG Blitz **underway… hmmm**
Those belts really pop out of the screen and look totally edgy Flak. I'll put the wife in the loop to give you some more feedback. We could like touch base on this later. You know, run a flag up the flagpole and see who salutes first* And other biznizz jargon.
I'll post a feed of the pet dog that I don't have blitzing a Tamiya Tiger in 1/35th. Paws on Plastic. Jeez, I crack myself up. Design - how hard can it be?
* Not made up. An opponent in some particularly difficult legal costs negotiations once used this phrase as he thought his offer was stronger than mine and that I would have to give ground. Thankfully he was wrong.

I love the seat belts and instrument panel. Looks fantastic!
Confused as always, and somewhere in hiding on the Scandinavian peninsula...
