Re: Flakmonkey's BIG Blitz **underway… hmmm**
Well bloody done... it looks fantastic... and defintitely a "kit" in and of itself. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long to see the rest of it.. you've made a start now, eh?

OK, so aside from the fact the aircraft isn't complete I can honestly say I am amazed with what you've done with that interior.
I'm a mostly full-time modeller put a part-time poster....

Top effort!! It's a model in itself and it's a pity that some much of that deatil will be concealed when the rest of the fuselage is assembled...the Wingnuts Gotha cockpit is the saem and I am surprised that some of these manufacturers don't consider releasing such detailed and complete sub-assemblies and kits in their own right...

Re: Flakmonkey's BIG Blitz **underway… hmmm**
Thanks for looking and haranguing. And thanks to Ian, whose fault this whole thing was. Not really a blitz but an entertaining enough (for me) bit of fun at least and that's what we're here for innit.
My deepest apologies for this outbreak of modelling. You have my word that it will never happen again in a blitz. This was, let's not forget, entirely Ian's fault.
Rather naughtily, my final tune was not one that The Tall Vegetarian Wife particularly wanted to hear. By way of reparation, we have STP. And why not? It's a killer riff.
This is one of the rare cases where much of it can be seen - especially given that that big glasshouse canopy is immaculately moulded and crystal clear. The internal structure really is its own kit and to be perfectly honest it was a push getting it done to the standard I felt it needed to be done to in 24 hours. Albeit 24 hours including a bit of a sleep and a few other things. There's a whole lot of work in there. At my normal modelling pace, I would allow a week to get to this stage.SJPONeill wrote:it's a pity that some much of that deatil will be concealed when the rest of the fuselage is assembled...

Would ya like to learn to fly? Would ya? Would you like to see me try?

Well Done, not just assembled and painted, but weatherd and worn !!
Detail like this makes an argument for half-models, clear fuselages, etc ....

Re: Flakmonkey's BIG Blitz **finished**
This is how Wingnut displayed the test shots of their Gotha in 2009 before it was released - at the time, a lot of people suggested releasing it like this as a limited display version a. for those who simply did not have room for the full version and b. as a means of displaying the interior a lot of which is concealed once the wings go on...

Nicely done, that is a great looking interior. It'll be great to see the rest of the plane built around it at some point.
