Slight change of plan. Littlest little Ian is still dying with stomach & chest pains and dizziness. I am awaiting a call back from a doctor so will be starting at 08:30 - an hour earlier than planned, as I am not now taking him to school.

Ready for the 2nd half
Image

Only extra work done since last photo (but was done before 00:30) was the addition of a car wheel weight into the front wheel bay (and some blu-tac for stability) to keep the nose down. I'm hoping the front gear and bay doors will hide it from the casual observer.

Are we talking flu here or what? Hope it isn't as serious as it sounds.

08:47 and we're off (again)

An hour later sees various sticky outy bits added.Image

Everything else is painted.

And with 10g of nose weight, it's still a tail sitter!
Image

Jeff, I have no idea but Little Ian is at docs at 11, so I'll be away for a while at that time. Hopefully we'll know what's wrong with him.

I have to say, your brush painting with acrylics is about 1000 times better than mine. Crazy looking machine, the Gannet. I will have to get me one of these.

It's a lovely kit, Flak. And well worth the £7.99 (down from £14.99) I paid for it.

I need to pop put to take little Ian to the docs now but I am so close I can smell it!
Image

Everything is now attached apart from the prop, which now has the yellow tips painted. I still need to do a bit of touching up here and there and I added ANOTHER 5g to the front wheel well and it now sits on it's wheels. For anyone building this in the future you will need 15g of nose weight.

More when we get back.

Nice one Ian and that is a great bit of brush painting using acrylics. It's a determined sitter is the Gannet by the looks - tail prop time then?

I hope you get little Ian sorted.

I think most of us have probably tried that one in our childhoods Ian :-D At least he's OK though apart from the telling off he probably received!

No - Doc thinks it's stress-related. So I have got him writing down everything that is worrying him about school. So far he has 25 items. 8 involve one other pupil.....

Back to the build, 11:30 sees everything looking rosy!

Apart from the broken arrester hook, which needs to be re-attached. Other than that, it just needs more Klear.

Tail hook parts reunited. Waiting for glue to go off.
Just Klear to go on now! Celebrating with beans on toast.

Paul, the little Ians do buy me some great mugs, don't they?

A couple of 'quick and dirty' shots.

Beauty shots and a write-up later. Mrs. Ian is on her way home and I need to think about going to bed as I am working for the next 4 nights.....
