Blitzing a WWII Harley Davidson
Ok all, got to try and fit one more in and haven't seen anyone do a motorcycle yet and I have one in the stash that may never get done any other way figured I would give it a go.
Wil be starting some time between 10pm and midnight tonight. Got to work in the morning so can't play too long tonight. Hope I haven't bitten off a bit too much.
In the mean time, here is a little of my kind of music to tide you over.

A motorcycle? Well that IS different! Should be a challenge.
I'm a mostly full-time modeller put a part-time poster....

Re: Blitzing a WWII Harley Davidson
All right, underway. First off the obligatory sprue shot.
This, of course, is the bike in the Academy 72nd scale set. You may recall I built the Amphibious Jeep in a previous blitz. So since I had the kit laying around and I have a full day of work in front of me, figured why not.
Wait, you all didn't think I was going to try and build a 1/9th scale bike in 24 hours, did you? Thought you all knew I build almost always 72nd scale. I mean, even Flak only built an interior in a blitz on a 32nd scale Arado.
Anyway, all I did tonight was give the parts a quick spray of OD from the Model Masters rattle can and then it should have most of the day to get good and dry. I am a little worried though as several of the parts look pretty fragile and getting them off the sprue and cleaned up could be fun.
So, this will resume sometime after 7pm Monday.
One more lady rocker for your enjoyment.

This is wonderful. A Harley! What we need now. Must be the tiniest model in this blitzbau so far, you can hold the trophy for that.
Confused as always, and somewhere in hiding on the Scandinavian peninsula...

OK, this should be interesting. Heart........I still have dreams of being snowed in at a cabin in the Upper Peninsula with Heart.......oh never mind. It'll never happen.

Re: Blitzing a WWII Harley Davidson
Wow great choice.
You are correct we don't see many motercycles being blitzed.

And the point is???ShaunW wrote:I think it is the size issue SisselPrisca wrote:What did I say wrong?philp wrote:Thanks all (though hopefully not reading too much into Sissel's comments).
A small model with tiny parts isn't nessecarly easier to build than a bigger model! Thought that was obvious in this hobby.
Look at some of those blitzed tanks in 1/72 or 1/76 here. Not to mention Ians Kettenkrad and the firetruck!
He obviously didn't read what I wrote; as in wonderful, we need a bike kit (we've covered so many subjects on this blitz, why not a bike). And then I congratulated him for taking on a small model. How in the world does he turn that to something negative?
I will not comment anymore in this thread as there's the danger of being deliberately misunderstood, and there's no way I'm gonna have that unjustly back at me.
Good luck with your build, philp.

Re: Blitzing a WWII Harley Davidson
Oh dear, you have taken this the wrong way Sissel, please don't be upset. I really don't think that Philip was taking your comments as being negative and I think it's all got a bit lost in translation. I read his reply as being a bit of, how can I put it, gentleman's humour. You know, the size thing. I'll shut up now for fear of getting myself into trouble......

If that is what he meant, then I am very sorry to cause a fuss over nothing, philp!
Sometimes it's hard to catch humour, especially without a smiley. But I made a mistake, thought you were offended, and I took your reply the wrong way. I know what you meant now. Again, I'm so sorry. I will go into my corner and shut up now.

Re: Blitzing a WWII Harley Davidson
A motorbike... and a very small one.. I like it! We've had an interesting array of models in this Blitz.. aside from the usual planes we've had Kettenkrads, tanks, armoured cars, cars, ships, a whirlybird, a cockpit, nothing at all and now a bike. Awesome!
