Poor old Igor, no joystick to..err...pull and have...well...joy with. Nice, nice, nice so far. Seems odd though seeing a Sissel blitz with no vodka concoctions

And it feels odd, Shaun! I will have to make up for it in two weeks ;-)

Got the fuselage together, yay. Always feel when I've come this far it's a good way. Now while that dries I can have a go at the wheels and perhaps wings.

A bit of G&R eh? keep rockin' girl!

The Spit 22 is a great looker. I quite fancy doing one myself but with a switch to 1/48th I think. I've also being eyeing up that Airfix PR XIX in 1/48th as well.

G and R? Away at training "a long time ago" and they stayed in the same motel. I dimly got on the elevator one morning and looked up and there they were. I bid adieu to Mr Rose, said I liked his song Sweet Child, and went about my business. Small brush with the rich and famous.

Oh.....by the way, terrific build.

That's a nice little story Jeff :)

I took some pics underway and here they are.

Just for your OCD, Ian! This drawer is nowhere near as full or chaotic as it usually is, where is all the stuff that's s'pose to be there?

This is where I'm at now. The wings didn't fit the fuselage very well, and my mistake was forcing them down. Resulting in them jumping out and flying through the room. No damage, whew! I glued them on, forcing them down again. There's gaps on the underside due to this (mostly seen from the rear). Out with superglue and more downforce. Just poured mr surfacer here and there, hoping that will fix it. Should have just sanded fuselage wing joint, but nahh.. not this time. FORCING fit is much much better!

Taking a few hours break. Gotta watch something on TV and have just ordered pizza. Hungry...

Thank you, Saxon.

I don't know if it is the kit, or me, but most likely me... there are fit issues all over. Now I have been struggling with the undercarriage ever since the last bit of pizza.
The wheels are just odd so is the rest. Back wheel is behaving very strange, there is nothing in its way on either side, but still it refuses a 90 degree angle and keep falling to one side. I've tried with superglue, forcing it.. The underwing wheels are not better.
I have got all pieces on now, except canopy. I fear I've somehow created bad fit there too. Time will show.

I don't know if I will do more tonight, I have until 16.20 tomorrow, plenty of time for painting and decalling. There's lots of decals, and I don't know if I will put all on, probably skip the small ones as I have no patience. I dislike decalling sessions, and given my recent bad luck with decals, I fear the worst.

When tools are tidy, they get unhappy and die. It's horrible to watch. Please, stop this slaughter.

Why are you being so negative towards me in this thread? First you are telling me Ian doesn't like silver Spits and that I shouldn't let him see it, and now this?
What is going on? :???:

I am stopping this build as I don't need to receive mean and rude comments from a site moderator. That is the last I expected. I'm outta here...

Sissel, I'm sorry if you misunderstood my irony and interpreted it as an attack on you. No offence was intended and to be honest I can't see any in anything I wrote. Maybe we lost something in translation?

Now that that is cleared up via PM, me misunderstanding British humor/meaning of words/sayings again, I will go see if Spit is ready for first coat of paint.

Phew!!

Sissel, I think I can speak for everyone when I say that we are very, very impressed by your English.. including your grasp of slang and idiom. And it's very easy for things to get "Lost In Translation".. years ago I used to comment on a Montreal Canadiens Hockey site that was entirely in French.. my French is pretty good but I got very angry once when someone called me a "Little Cabbage".. an insult in English, a term of affection in French..

Anyway.. Paint! Paint!

I've just woken up from a sleep in front of the TV so I've missed a bit of build action here. This is looking good, although it sounds like the wheels have given you some trouble.

By my standards, the chuck it in drawer is looking quite tidy Sissel. I don't think I should show Ian pictures of mine

I have read Flak's comment and rest assured that he was having a joke and did not mean to cause upset. English humour is indeed quite strange at times. Sorry.
