Jeff's Gundam Madness***finished***

Post by jssel »

I do not understand the why's or the wherefore's but in the next hour I will begin gnashing plastic Skill Level 1 style.

It is a Bandai Gundam. The local WalMart may not handle kits anymore but in the action figures section they "had" for different things. 1/144 scale and the operators fit inside the head.

Was up all night as middle daughter, who mushes sled dogs, was in her first night time race of 42 miles. She placed third out of 12. It was cold (-20c), dark, and rough territory. Was good to see her charge out of the mirth to the finish line.

Anyway. Nice plastic, snap fit and shiny sticker dekkels.

Let the game begin (in about an hour).

So we are off.

The fit is OK but I am backing things up with Tenex 7R, my glue of choice.

So we have about the first hour in. Going fine. Even though this is a "snap tite" kit, a touch of glue is necessary.

Tamiya colors match very well with the red, blue and grey plastic.

At the end of round 2. It's got legs and it knows how to use them.

Different would be a good word. But than again this whole Blitzbau has been different.

Round 3 and it is starting to look rather mean and nasty. Hope it is a "good guy".

There is a number of optional parts that are not explained in the instructions until you flip to the back page. Seem important to make sure the right weapon is attached to the right arm based on the state of play.

Round 4. Had a long lunch and a strong cuppa. Getting things wrapped up now. Must add weaponry. Should have a good blaster and a cutting tool I think. Clean up a few paint lines and give an overall finish to tie it all together.

The black striping and that included washes into recesses. I also used Testors Metallic Red around the edges of the shield as the stickers did not wrap all the way around.
