When An Old Blitzbuilder Leaves The Bench.. It's ON, Peoples
So, we approach the end. Time to sign off with one more build.. I've had the most fun I've had in ages this month and learned a lot about my modelling skills. Mainly that I need to go out and get some (wonder if my LHS stocks them?)
To sign off I'll be thoroughly over-reaching again by
a) Blitzing a type of model that I'm not used to building
b) Trying to shoehorn a day at work into the middle
c) The kit has "Issues" by all reports..
So this should be a hoooot!
I'm at work at the moment so I'll likely be starting some time after 20.00 GMT.. how much after I don't know.

Hope you've got plenty of filler, the mould has seen better days from the builds I've seen recently.

Re: When An Old Blitzbuilder Leaves The Bench.. 21.00 start
OK: starting in a few minutes so here's the old Cold Warrior right here..
It's the ancient Airfix Sea King with a new sprue added for the Radome and other AEW doodads.
You can tell the difference between the worn out old 1969 (?) sprues and the more recent additions from a mile away.
I'm going to make this in the 1988 HMS Illustrious AEW.2 version, in flight (the radome is inflated so there's no real choice in that matter!
We're about to hit GO on the last mmD Blitz of this month.. and it looks like this might be a heck of a way to bow out..

Lots of luck on this one. I'll be watching off and on.

First update.. in the "Dull" stage
Here's your crew, Craig and Mark.. they've gone quite green, possibly at the prospect of flying a machine that mmD has built..
Dry fit on the fuselage.. oh dear...
Office Supplies
Musically, I appear to be in a Spector/Girl Groups/Brill Building sort of mood..
So, to kick off, here is, to my mind, the Best 3 1/2 Minute Pop Song of them all.. Ike & Tina Turner singing River Deep, Mountain High, written by the incomparable Ellie Greenwich and Jeff Barry, produced by Phil Spector.. it's the apotheosis of the "Wall Of Sound".. it's an appropriate song for a Blitz, because it's a Blitzkrieg of a tune: it never lets up, just keeps building and building until that third chorus where Tina, the orchestra and the backing singers hit the sweet spot and the back of your head flies off.
Anyone interested in how "Dynamics" work in music should listen to this, over and over.
