lancfan's Dornier 17F ***Finished***

Post by lancfan »

Hello folks, I have a number of kits to build on this theme and have changed my mind a number of times- final decision for the first model is . . . . . The Airfix Dornier 17 in Condor Legion markings.

More like they weren't thinking of exporting to Germany, which is generally the problem these days AFAIK

The interior has been assembled and the fuselage halves are now ready to be joined together. Considering its age this is quite a good kit and still stands the test of time. The basic wing parts have also been glued up.

Hi Sissel, it was first released in 1972 so that has to be a yes.

Were the wings fabric covered or corrugated metal?

The underside of the wings outboard of the engines and the ailerons & flaps were fabric covered but Airfix did this a little heavily.

With the basic airframe complete and set aside to dry I will leave this until later and carry on with my Whirlwind helicopter and Beech C45.
