I have been playing with the IP tonight but I'm not happy with the colour grey I have used, I think it's too dark, so a re-spray is on the cards.
I printed off some instruments but again I'm not happy so I re-thinking my options.
Regards Splash

I profusely and grovelling apologise for not having done anything on my Harrier since the first day.
I was busy dismantling a racing car, orders for leatherwork, a few WW1 model displays to build. Now that an order for 100 toy shields has been cancelled I may be able to catch up on some serious modelling.

Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..
Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Lol - no worries Fred, it sounds like you've been busy. I've not had a huge amount of time to apply to it either.
One things for certain - this is not going to be a quick build
Cheers

That's looking Awsome Mark! How did you find the fit of the engine in the fuselage?

I'm hopeing to get this moving again after the Iron Curtain build finishes. I'm still not sure if I should build a GR.3 or AV-8A.
But as it was I spent some time looking at the kit last night and then reading my Harrier books and looking it up on the internet.
I found this build which, although unfinished showed some useful tips on detailing the cockpit sidewalls and u/c bays.

Re: Airfix 1/24 Harriers - Sir T, FredK, Splash, MarkyM607
Hi Sir T, I put the engine in after I had put the fuselage together!!, to eager!. However it only seems to attach or touch the fuselage at the rim of the front fan and the small support towards the rear of the underside of the engine. There is a reasonable amount of room around the sides and the nozzle attachment discs do not touch the sides!. Otherwise, if you glue the rim of the fan to the inner end of the intake trunking it's fine. P.S. if you don't remember to put the engine in before gluing the fuselage together it does shoehorn in, the sides of the fuselage move enough!!.
(If there's an answer in there let me know!!!).
Thanks for the comments too, looking really nice, the tail/rudder is on and the tail RWR/RCS tip. As with you cannot decide whether to build the original GR.1 version and honour the original kit or do my preferred Harrier, the GR.3.....

Progress so far, a bit slow lately, the Shackleton GB has been drawing my attention!.
GR.3 nose on, not too bad a cut and only so much filler needed, more my own doing than the kit..
Nozzles on, they seemed to fight being glued into place but I think we've come to an agreement!!..
Also started on the wings this week.
