The Grey/green camouflage turns out to be surprisingly good against modeller's desks as well as Germany/Cambridgeshire then.....
Best wishes

Nice finish, I like the tail markings they set it off nicely.

That looks great Mark, those tail markings are certainly striking. Good to see one of these big H's on the way to completion.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Thanks chaps, the tail markings is only four decals!!, two white for a base then two matching yellow. Managed to line them up but as I had put the rudder on slightly turned it was fun with the upper decals!!. You have to paint the red and black but that was easy enough.
On an annoying note, all my efforts to remove my finger/glue print have failed. I do have the Sea Harrier 1/24th so wondered if, as it is the GR.1/3 kit with a new front end for the Shar, does it have the GR canopy still included?. Will have to look.

Good news!!, as the Sea Harrier kit is just the GR.1/3 kit with new front end bits for the Shar it has all of the GR stuff in it including a canopy!!. Yay, will try to apply this one without messing it up!.

Re: Airfix 1/24 Harriers, beany,Sir T, FredK, Splash, MarkyM
At last I have found a great Harrier reference book that shows pictures of the bang seat, so I can now get on with the cockpit. I had started on the seat and had added a seat back and the head rest webbing but had to stop as I had no idea how the seat webbing went until now, so tonight I added the basic webbing made out of cheap aluminium tape stuck back to back to give me the right thickness and also gave it a coat of primer. All I need to now do is scratch buil some buckles and paint.
I'm not sure if any of the seats side details will be visible once fitted so I will try a test fit before adding any.

That looks good!. Just another warning that I found. I had to scrape a little of the top of the seat to get the canopy to fit properly. Maybe I didn't fit the seat properly or the canopy was wrong (I had to replace the to plastic strips at the lower front end so maybe that lowered it). Just something to check!!.

Cheers for the advice on the seat fit I will jeep an eye out for that.
A test fit of the seat shows I need to add some detail to the sides at the top and the rear bulkhead.

It's good to see a bit more action on this Big H thread and that is an excellent looking seat Splash.

FINISHED!!!!!!!
After about six months slogging, I mean enjoyment, I am calling this one done. True there are problems, such as the decal silvering and the canopy not playing ball 100% but I need to move on and this is as done as I can make it without more work!!. Looks good though and a massive Harrier is no bad thing. (I said Harrier!).

Well done Mark, the bright tail looks great.
The question now, is what are you going to do with it
