Finally managed to get an Airfix F.3 for a good price on Fleabay - So I will be doing a T.5 conversion (and most likely an F.6 from the spares).

That's great. I'll watch that with interest, Stuart.

I am leaning towards doing an F1 or F3 using the original old Airfix kit myself.

Finally got the F2A out the stash

Also I noticed no one is doing the F1, as I picked this one up today I'll do it alongside if that's ok

I chicken out of using my F3 & T55 into a T5 conversion; I bought a Sword T5 kit

That's great kit - The F.1 will be more than welcome.

Lol - I can understand that but I'll go with what I've got. I've never done this kind of kitbashing before so it'll be an interesting project.

Stuart, can I sign up please? I'll be using the old Airfix F1A / F3 mould. I have 4 of them and some spare parts too and could do either an F1, F2 or F3. All of the ones I have are from the late period after Airfix converted them to snap-fit models, I'm afraid.

Not sure yet what I'll build it as but I made a start refining the radome and exhausts (the silver one is unmodified) a bit today.

I hope that's OK?

Go for it David - Welcome aboard!

which of those nose cone pics is the modified one? I assume the more pointy one?

My F.3 is the 'snap kit' too - what makes me laugh is that is does anything but 'snap together'.

I'll be starting this week too - if nothing else I want to get the belly tanks cut out before Christmas.

Cheers

Stuart

Yes, I made the radome more pointy. I don't know if the mould is just worn out or if it was always that way.

Sorry for the poor photo, but here's the parts all washed and inspected.

Looking at some of the smaller white metal bit and the instructions, I see I have some head-scratching to do :)

However, the parts are excellent ...

That looks a really interesting kit John - I'm looking forward to seeing that go together.

I have to admit that I've chickened out of the T.55/T.5 conversion - I tried to mark stuff out last night and it's just more than I fancy taking on (And it's just too nice a kit to chop up) - Fred's right - I'll just get the Sword kit instead.

So as a nod towards the main export user - I will do a RSAF T.55 and I'll also build the Airfix F.3 (and probably my F.2A)

Cheers

Gents - so you know I've updated the build list on the 1st post. I'm also intending to edit into it some completed build pictures when we've got some.

This way anyone reading the thread from the start will get a good insite as to what we're up to.

Kit - Sorry chap but what's your name? I'll add it into the list (sory I have a rubbish memory).

Cheers
