Here's the current status of my B-57. I've been quite bad on putting updates on here so apologies. I have been suffering this week with an infected cut on my right index finger's knuckle, which swelled up and then infected by finger, hand and wrist with cellulitis, said the doctor. It's just getting better today, I have some good old antibiotics on the go.

Thanks, I'm quite enjoying this, it's a simple build but it goes together well and it's a nice change from conversions and extended filler builds!!. Haven't used any on this yet.
(Hand is almost back to normal so modelling away today, u/c on this build).

Progress so far, sorry about the blurry pic. It takes so long to sort them out on PB that I can't be bothered to go take another one!.

Looks pretty good so far Mark. Having lots of bother with my B.2 at the moment hence no updates. :frown:

Thank you!, t's all but done, just adding tiny little antennae and replacing the nose wheel. Otherwise we're there. Pics when I can get PB to behave.

Finished!!. Really quite pleased with this one, simple enough to build and a renewal/replacement of a kit I had twenty years ago.

I'll work on the size. I have my camera set to 800x640 or the like so that I don't need to resize them. I'm trying Postimage which is working really well so far (don't want to speak too soon!!). But they're coming out small on here.

That looks really nice, particularly given that you built it "single-handed" ;-)

Time for a long overdue update I think. I haven't updated as all this kit has offered so far are extended time-consuming and mojo-killing filling and sanding sessions. However, I now have something that looks like an aeroplane.

Image

All was not well though. The fit of the canopy wasn't at all good.

Image

The right hand side fitted like the proverbial glove but the left side had a huge gap and stopped short of the fuselage sill. The picture shows it after I d sanded the side back to get it flush. it took 3 attempts and an awful lot of very careful sanding and polishing to get everything squared up and ready for masking. I also discovered that it was possible to clean the inside of the canopy by inserting a brush through the crew access door which helped with the sanding dust that invariably ended up inside.

And, I'm still finding sink marks :frown:

Image

They're popping up (or down) everywhere. I fully expect to have at least 2 goes at painting as there are bound to be ones that I'll miss

But I have at least got it to a stage where I can actually put some paint on.

And I've just got out of the Den after an initial paint session, but more of that next time. 8-)

That's getting along well. I was more eight fingered than one handed, but there were a few days where my hand was quite tight skin wise. Thanks anyway!!.

Just a quickie for tonight.

I've got the first coat of grey on (Tamiya XF-83). As I thought, it's shown up some more work I need to do.
