And Shaun...any more from you like that and I'll lodge a complaint and I won't give a damn who gnaws it! ;-)

You can ig-gnaw the Beaver jokes. Oh Dam, there's another. MJ will be Lodging another complaint! :ha:

I hope someone cut a ribbon and made a little speech declaring the inaugural SB open.

Cheers

I checked the transparency of the transparencies and stopped fretting! ;-)
H32 floor, with H128 seat frames and cabin walls/roof and H155 seat cushions.
I found a companion for the supplied pilot and they got H31, with H116 'body warmers' and H117 helmets. I removed their oxygen masks and added Tamiya tape harnesses,

Of course, whilst waiting for bits of paint to dry, I did some gluing of sub-assemblies;

Don't forget to drill holes for the steps!

Nicely moulded engine, that responded well to a little metallic care and dry-brushing;

At this point, no glazing has been added.

Parts 89 and 90 are numbered the wrong way around. 90 should be on the port side and 89 the starboard. This is so the steps will be parallel to the ground when the aircraft is stationary.

As you can see...nope.
Fortunately, because of the thick window, you could get away with simple rectangles of plasticard.

What're your thoughts on the rivetty surface detail?

Rivets.....I ain't got no stinking rivets. Not now anyway. Sanded away to a smoother than a beaver tail finish. I left the under wing flap detail however. This is not a bad kit. At least not yet. Copyright 1971 inside the fuselage. No provision for a stand on this one. Hole is flashed over but I have extra stands if I choose.

I hope to get at least four Hudson Bay blankets for my peltry.

Nice progress on your's by the way.

No kit in the stash so will just watch this one.

Always wanted to do this one:

Montana Civil Air Patrol back in the mid to late 70's.

Also remember a build in the old Scale Modeler of one on floats in Alaskan Fisheries markings was a neat build.

Bruce, those Tamiya tape straps will never save the crew if they crash.
I'm a mostly full-time modeller put a part-time poster....

Yes, I did reach for my coat after that effort of a joke. I can't think of any more yet which refer to beaver yet wouldn't get me moderated on what is, after all, a family friendly site.

Nice progress being made here and this looks to be a decent old kit - but I would have to de-rivet it.

Of course you do realise Jeff that Bruce will be finished before you get the wings on :grin:

0700EDT in the States. He is probably done by now. No worries.

Thanks for the tips there Merlin. A prime reason for shared builds. I DO get ahead of my self sometimes and not test fit stuff.

I have seven from my Red Cross Chapter in the Gulf. Two coming home in a day or two. Yeah.....it's been a little busy. I have a new picture to post when I get to work shortly.

All looking good. I think the seats could do with thicker cushions though. :)

The monthly magazine of the Canadian History Society used to be called "The Beaver", but they had to change it because of the innuendo, and trouble with spam filters.

The new name? "Canada's History".

Remember IPMS/Canada and the "sweating beaver?" I have two of the badges (of honor). But due to the event I can't remember where I was.

Oh. Sorry.

Here is where I am at as of this morning.

Ah how today's innuendo makes a mockery out of older titles. The Beaver Scouts is a laugh in itself but, seriously, the Sweating Beaver :shock: and you've got two badges of honour Jeff - you've been hiding your light under a bushel :ha:
