The wings of this kit are numb and blunt even by frog standards and just do not taper in thickness realistically, luckily the plastic is quite Thick but this is the first time I have used a tool from my garage toolbox to attack a plastic kit.

Wow, David, that looks serious!

Well, I finished thinning down the trailing edges of the wings. I am broadly happy with the wing thickness reduction between root to tip, which doesn't compare too badly to the Warpaint drawings, especially taking into account the slab like nature of the wings caused by the relatively large taper ratio.

However, I've finished my bottle of superglue, so will need to wait until I can next visit my LMS to try attaching the etched brass for the wheel well roofs. So that means I can spend the intervening time reducing the thickness of the rudder and elevators, while also filling in some of the messes I've made with the fuselage.

regards,

Martin

The airframe is finally complete enough for basic camouflage, the areas around the wing/fuselage joint have been pre-painted to ensure the upper/lower colour line is sharp.

The hairy stick has advantages over the airbrush for some jobs.

Hi Martin

The grey has gone on OK and the green will go back on again tonight.

With the basic colour scheme and markings on and the airframe matt varnished that is all for today. The identity will need painting on next as I don't have any suitable decals for that and work will continue tomorrow evening.

Cheers for the support guys.

David nice work with the painting and decals its looking sharp.

I'm now back to the stage before the gloss problem. I had a slight problem with yellowing of the decals, but four days of bright sunshine and being stuck to the window appears to have worked, so fingers crossed they will be useable.
