I should be able to get some builds finished this week, as Katie has taken the boys to New York with her parents, to consult some doctors about David's condition. Graham gets to go too (his school want him to do a project on New York when he gets back).
So after they had all gone to the airport, I decided to clear the kitchen table before doing some decalling on the Blue Harrier. When I went into the kitchen, I found:

So I texted Katie to ask Graham why there was an armoured column on the table...

He answered "I'm re-enacting the Battle of Kursk!". 8-) How cool is that!

Anyhow, here is the Harrier with some of the decals on. The decals are nice, except that whatever glue they are using must be something like wallpaper paste. I noticed little bits floating in the water when I put the first decal in. The paste makes the clear part of the film a disgusting milky colour, not what you want when decalling on a dark blue background. :omg I've had to float the decals off the backing paper, wash the back of the decal and then put them on a puddle of Pledge.

There are lots of decals, so it's going to take some time. I've done about half of the top decals now. There are lots more on the sides!

cheers

That's a nice armoured column. Is the JagdPanther trying it's luck with anti-airctraft duty?

Thanks everyone. It's still decalling time:

That lot took about two hours to do. As you can see, there are still quite a few decals to do, and most of them are tiny!

This one, the red Sabre and the Blue Impulse Sabre are the three longest-to-decal kits I've done. :)

More tomorrow, hopefully.

cheers

Seeing that Union Flag decal on top reminds me of Dad's Army!

Ok gents after working on her all day the GR.3 is complete!
One slight change of plan though, She isn't in winter camo unfortunately as I just didnt have enough time to apply the white and make it look good so I decided to just stick to the wrap around camo and go with 1 squadron deployment scheme in the falklands.
So on with the build.
Fuselage and wings are together:
Image

Cockpit is complete, note that this is the first time iv ever detailed the ejector seat:

Nose cone pitot tube secured:

Final coat of paint has been applied to the fuselage:

Untitled by the_badass_expendables, on Flickr
Now the wings have been added aswell as giving them a coat of paint aswell as landing gear:

And now onto the finished model:

All together this was a really nice little kit especially when she was given to me, I really wanna buy another now if all the harrier kits are like this little gem!
Thanks for looking guys, c&c welcome as always!
