The legs are taking shape now, from left to right showing the various changes I have made following the modifications in the article.

Re: lancfan's Airfix Eagle LM
I like the way you've showed the 4 stages in building the legs up.

The legs are now in place, the next step is to fit the porch, ladder & feet.

Re: lancfan's Airfix Eagle LM- Descent Stage done!
On to the Ascent stage now, work begins by cutting away the unwanted areas prior to fitting the plastic card additions.

That's some major surgery, David. But as you've managed the descent stage so well I am confident you'll do just as good a job with this.

Excellent work on this David, your descent stage looks very good. I'm looking forward to the ascent part now, plenty of surgery going on I see.....

Re: lancfan's Airfix Eagle LM- Descent Stage done!
The descent stage has now been corrected using the drawings with the article and pictures of the full-size, to speed up the reshaping of this I have used two blocks of balsa to form the corrected sides instead of the many small pieces of plastic card shown in the drawings. The corrected basic shape is now finished, the three pictures showing the unit from roughly shaped corrections to finished basic shapes. The next step will be to begin sticking bits on to it to form something more like an ascent stage.

You really are pulling out all the stops to get this one accurate, David. Very impressive work.
