Maverick231's 1/64th Scale Collection.

Post by IronMan129 »

Hey folks!
I have been collecting 1/64th scale unknowingly for about 15 years now!
It started when my amazing Late Nan bought me my first Eddie Stobart Lorry, then Blackpool Balloon Trams and so on.....

So, this weekend I went to the Santa Pod Raceway in Northampton with a group of friends and after being blown off my feet by various Top Fuel Dragsters and Top Fuel Funny Cars and more I decided to purchase just one model.
So after giving into temptation here are the models:

Top Fuel Funny Cars:

15 time champion John Force's Ford Mustang Funny Car GFR in 2011 Castrol GTX High Mileage Livery which was only used for the 2011 Indy U.S. Nationals:

15 time champion John Force's Ford Mustang Funny Car GFR in 2002 special edition 25th Anniversary Elvis Presley livery:

Top Fuel Dragsters:

Kenny Bernstein's Top Fuel Dragster in 1992 BudWeiser Livery which broke the speed record at 301.70mph and was the first in its class to break 300mph:
Image
Joe Amato's top Fuel Dragster in 1997 Keystone Wheels Livery whis Joe campaigned in the 1997 Winston NHRA champion drag racing series:

Here is a pic of the 4 together:

I plan to add a Raceway to my diorama,a but we will see as time goes on.

Ok so on to the pics of my Hauler Collection:

Eddie Stobart Scania with a Allied Pickford's rear trailer, these were part of 2 sets but the other parts went missing, one day I will buy new replacments:

Eddie Stobart Scania in the SunPride livery.
This was my first Scania and to date the most detailed truck in my collection, for a start its the only one with a registration plate, Im sure the DVLA will love that!:

And untill my latest purchase(details will follow) arrives the last pic from me is the two Eddie Stobart Mercedes Sprinters that came with the big Eddie Stobart set:

So after many years of searching high and low for the exact model, this morning I finally found my holy grail in 1/64th!
Please bare with me as to others this may seem like a fairly normal model so I'l explain all.
As stated above, my amazing Late Nan used to buy me alot of models when I was very young ranging from 1/72nd Aircraft, 1/76th Blackpool Balloon Trams, OO Guage Trains and 1/64th Corgi Lorries.
As it turned out my favourite was Eddie Stobart and I had and still have most of my Lorries from when I was a child.
There was one lorry though that I always wanted but never actually got and I can't figure out why.
For years I'd see it in the shop in Skegness Butlins and I'd crave it, I even remember it being for sale at £9.99 but somehow it never found its way to me.
Well this morning I found one on ebay for £9.95, 4p cheaper than the original!.
So I bought it within seconds!
As it happened it was the last one listed!
It's a Corgi Superhauler Scania in James Irlam And Son's livery.
I did plan on going to a model shop this afternoon to pick up a few things but when I arrived it was completely empty and had infact closed its doors for good which Is a huge shame as they specialised in second hand models with really really good prices!

I hope you like my collection so far, with the Santa Pod diorama being my next project alot of 1/64th, 1/76th and 1/72nd models are on my list so they will be posted around.

Ok so today has been a very productive day!
To start the day off my Holy Grail was delivered this morning:

Then I went into town and bought 2 more little gems.
One is a Quadbike and trailer that I bought as I saw quite a few Quads at Santapod that crews used:

and the other is a Red Bull F1 car driven by Sebastien Vettel:

Its nice to be able to compare 2 vehicles that would never normally park next to eachother:

Oh and I decided to buy a giant RC Helicopter which will land me in alot of trouble haha!

This is certainly different Adam. I have quite a collection of die cast that originally belonged to my late father. Mostly buses and cars.

That's an interesting and diverse collection of die casts Adam and it's always satisfying to finally get hold of a long wished for model!
