1970 Mitsubishi Galant 1/24

Post by VickersVandal »

This is the Nostalgic Heroes kit, obtained after much hunting. Built for my brother as part of the I buy em you build em arrangement that partially funds my hobby. He owned a later series Galant but there's no kit available of it, so this one had to suffice.
Brush painted as it needed to match the original "moonstone metallic" paint and I use either a hairy stick or cheap rattle cans and there was no way I was finding this colour in a can easily. It was built fairly quickly while on vacation and definitely falls into the class of git 'er done builds....but my brother isn't fussy and for me it's all good practice. Mixing the paint to match the colour was a challenge - a slightly lighter and greener shade of this: http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_ima ... al.jpg?v=1;

Nice work. Wouldn't it have been a Chrysler Galant back in 1970?

In Australia, yes, though not in Japan. I think WW2 (and the Zero fighter) was still too fresh in peoples' minds for Mitsubishi to market cars here under their own brand.
