Re: Honda CB1100R
thanks guys just a quick update the bike is standing on its own now i have put the side stand on complete with spring, the front sprocket cover is on, the bgear change linkage is not long enough so had to cut the linkage off and fit some thin wire to lenth, i had a look at dazzled build so i knew this was a problem, but that is done and fixed on the bike, the body work is all done finished that this afternoon that is put away to dry, i am going on holiday on sunday for a week so will not post anything else till i get back
sorry about the out of focus pic but you can see the spring on the sidestand
in this photo you can see the cable adjusters for the throttle

More great attention to detail Syd and it's good to see her on the stand and on her wheels. Hope you have a great holiday!

Re: Honda CB1100R
Damn, that's a fine looking build there Syd. I have found the 1/12 scale bikes a bit small for my liking (although it hasn't stopped me buying them!) so I'm all the more impressed with the level of detail you have got in this one - very nice work mate.
Cheers

This build continues to impress Syd, that is a great looking and nicely detailed rolling chassis.

Re: Honda CB1100R
thanks guys i really value your comments, the model is now finished right from the start i decided to custom paint the body work so i have customized some of the details namely the brake hoses, added extra detail, i put hex rivets where bolts should be photo etch bolt heads on the sump and engine side covers, i cut the air valves of the wheels and put a set of detail master on, for the paint work i was going to do a fishscale pattern but i could not get my airbrush fine enough so i remembered a something i read years ago about a technique so i tried that, it only works with oil based paints, basically you put water in an old dish something like you get from the chinese after you had a take away float some different coloured oil based paints on top of the water and they float on the top you then dip the part in but not submerge it and you get a pattern on the part, i find it works better with lighter colours on a light base, for those who like a parts count the parts for the kit number 112 and the extra parts i put on was 128 ish so all in all there is about 240 parts in total, here is the photos of the finished bike
thank you all for looking i hope you liked watching the progress as much as i enjoyed building the model

Excellent work Syd. A very nice build, and I really like the custom paint job you've given her. What's next?
