Coming together nicely James. That's an interesting link too. I like the idea of one of these kits converted to a "clubmobile" 8-)

The lighter green was made from simple adding the same green to an equal amount of gloss yellow (in fact I think I could have gone a shade lighter). Extensive masking was required to outline the black trim, which in the end I used Alclad Black Primer for as it's gloss and dries very quickly

The roof structure was found to be very troublesome during final construction fouling the top of the windscreen. This was chopped back to be level with the roof line.

Well I actually finished late last night after, thankfully I done a lot of the hand painting tasks and decalling during the day. The decals btw look dodgy on the sheet but were very thin with good colour density. No instruction on location other than the box art, so references and guess work were employed. License plates are provided, but I had to scratch the front one (just realised I've not attached it!). Windows were added from OHP film as it was to hand, being thinner than package "acetate" a bit easier to handle. I had to make masks for the destination lozenges which then took a couple of attempts to get central. Added a scratchbuilt light to the front as picture show it stand proud of the surface. There is no clue as to how the other one, which is supplied, attaches so added wire and secured it to hole in the side of the bonnet.

The finished article looks OK though I after the experience I can see how it construction could be improved. I may return to it later and add interior (doesn't even have a steering wheel), but it looks a lot better than the initial impression the parts give you.

It's good to see this one finished James and that is a really great result with the model having a very classic appearance. Hopefully your dad liked it!
