Hi all well I've nearly finished the cops car so I thought it was time to start the robbers van, it's going to be my favourite style old and beat up.
I wanted to show the scrapes and scratches on the bed of the van so I thought I would use the same method I used for the dent on the Honda tank and the dent in the fender of the traction avant.
I covered the floor pan with foil.
Image
Sprayed it with the body colour then stained and scratched through to the foil.
Image
I've started scruffying up the body.

Tried the floor pan in the body to see the effect

I may go further with the wear and tear on the transit, a few dents or maybe more rust but I'm happy with where it's going at the moment.

Loving the Transit!
We used to go all over the country in a Transit, and it had tonnes of rust. We also filled the back doors with concrete to stop them falling apart completely and rattling all the time
We had an old horse hair stuffed sofa in the back for seating which went up in flames when a cigarette fell into it; we stopped on the hard shoulder on the M45 and left it on the side of the road..... the burned out skeleton was still there two weeks later
The bonnet used to fly open from time to time as well; intetesting at 60 on the motorway :-D
Best wishes

That Rangie looks superb. Just needs ecilop on the front  the trannie is looking great. Typical of thousands on the beasts that were hammered all over the country. Don't forget the almost obligatory bald tryes, old copies of Sun newspaper and chocolate bar wrappers on the dashboard and spotlights (err, I think I'm starting to describe my old Transit.)
This kit is crying out for a SKGB

All the best.

in answer to your decal problem, make sure you have the right decal paper for your printer ie. ink jet paper for ink jet printer, set the printer for transfer paper or photo paper glossy then print your design and leave it for the ink to dry i usualy leave it over night when ink is dry spray it with the spray you can get for it (sorry i can`t remember what it is called ) i have been told you can spray it with lacquer you only want a thin coat as this final step is the thickness that the decal will be this is just to stop the ink running when you soak the decal to apply,i hope this helps, the range rover is looking good, also you have made a brilliant start to the transit i have one in my stash so looking forward to seeing this progress

There's some great work going on here, KP. The Ford Transit has long been a favourite of the crimmer classes!

Oi  I might have been a scaffolder but I wasn't a criminal! :-D :-D :-D

To be fair though, a lot of transits were to be found outside sub post offices with their engines running......
Best wishes

I've driven Transits on a number of occasions over the years but, I hasten to add, never at speed away from a post office or high street bank with several police cars in hot pursuit :ha:

Hi all well I've dirtied up the bottom and started ageing the interior of the transit I think it's a great little kit although I would have liked a full engine more.

Great work on the Transit. That thing looks rattier than mine did. Incidentally I am working on a model of my old one. Including converting the rear doors and getting rid of the drivers side sliding door. I need to convert the drivers seat to one from a Ford Granada and add sunroof and spotlights. Oh and rust.

All the best.

Sounds an interesting project, I did that with a 750 Honda kit.

I love it! This dio is going to be great. I didn't even know you could get scale models of a Transit. I once had a Corgi Juniors one as a sprog, though.
