More great work with this Syd but sooner you than me with the PE chain, best of luck with it, assembling that would likely drive me mad!

thanks guys got the fairing painted and decal`d got to put some carbon decals on the inside and that`s them finished, spent a couple of days cutting the chain links off the fret and cleaning them up (all 320 + of them) and last night i made a section of the chain up, probably take a couple days or so before the chain is finished

this shows how much there is to do to make the full chain

Those fairing panels look great Syd and I can see there is a lot of intricate work ahead with that chain!

hi been working on the chain but i seem to have messed it up so i have to decide if i am going to order another on or use the kit part, i have polished the fairing just got the carbon decals to put on the inside, until i decide what to do about the chain i can`t get on with the swing arm so i might just use the kit part i don`t really know what went wrong i built one for another build i did with not much bother but this one just fell apart when i tried to fix the lenths together

Pity about the chain Syd and I can imagine it's frustrating that the same type of product worked faultlessly on your earlier build. If it's not fixable it might be worth giving the kit chain a go - perhaps carefully painted it might not look too bad.

i must be a gluten for punishment as i have ordered another chain if i mess this on up it will be the kit part which will not look as good, let you know what happens in a few days

It's looking really great, I certainly wouldn't attempt that chain.

i decided not to bother with another chain if i remember right i had to buy another chain for the one i did earlier and at £33 it can be a bit expensive so i salvaged some of the links and after painting the kit part i super glued the links to the outside of the kit part i dont know wether it looks better or not, i have also put some photo etch wheel adjusters on and a photo etch brake disc i have also put wheel axles instead of using the screws that came with the kit and put photo etch split pins on the end

in these pics you can see the links i put on the kit chain also the wheel asjusters i also put carbon decals on the rear mudguard and on the guards on the bottom of the swing arm you might also be able to see the split pins on the end of the axles

and the swing arm fixed to the frame next is the wiring

Great looking rear wheel and swing arm assembly Syd, this build is shaping up very nicely. The combination of the kit chain and links from the replacement item looks very good to me but, heck, those PE chains come at a price!!
