Most recent build completed.
Revell Crusader, 1/12 scale 'Amercan Chopper' style bike.

Fun build, a few scratch parts like the HT leads and Brake lines, Paint is Humbrol 51, Sunset Red though over white primer it's more hot pink but I like, it, very hot rod and bright and noticeable.

Nice looking custom chopper. These bikes don't look like a comfortable ride 8-)

Thanks,

On a Highland road (in fact on most UK roads), they're certainly not and don't lend themselves to going much about 50mph either.
I guess on a long smooth highway they'd be great, I had a Kawasaki Z750 hardtail chop a few years ago and it was great, just not great on tight twisty roads and potholes.

Here's a little clip from when I getting it ready to sell due to lack of use and waiting on the council to put in better roads clearly wasn't happening.

Sorry Syd, only just seen this reply.
It's a J Cloth type white kitchen cloth material I had laying around which I stained in a pot of stewed tea, It could have done with a longer soak really to look a little more heat stained.
Someone on my youtube suggested sticking plaster, like the fabric type which I thought was a great idea and thinking I had some on a long roll I dug into the med box only to discover it was either binned or used and I only had those waterproof ones and my local shops in this village don't have anything other than the basic generic boxed things.

thanks for the info. it looks realistic from the exhaust wraps that i have seen on the 1/1 bikes you have done a good job with this kit the revell choppers do not have much detail in them

This seems to have slipped in under my radar. I think you've built a really great looking chop there. I've never ridden this type of motorcyle but can well imagine with that relaxed geometry it ain't going to handle all that well in the twisties but of course that's not what they are designed for.

Thanks.
I was more pleased than expected with the exhaust wrap but really wanted it a bit browner, the real stuff is just off white fresh on but then heat stains brown with use.
As for handling, they roll surprisingly well through bends but fast tight turns are a no go, the biggest problem is ground clearance, I regularly scraped my Sidestand and exhaust on my Hardtail chop. Comfy as long as you cruise around 50-60 too.
