I love the Delorean and as much as I do I will admit that you aren't far off in your claims. As a kid I remember driving past his dealership in Bedminster New Jersey not far from where I live. I remember that field of stainless cars. I was a fan from then on.

Later on in life I actually did work at John's Bedminster estate even swam in his pool and played with his dog. The estate is now a golf course. I always said if a time came when money was not an issue I would get a Delorean. In my eyes the worse thing about a Delorean was the motor.

As a lifelong Lotus fan, the saddest part of the whole De Lorean affair for me was the involvement of Colin Chapman and Fred Bushell. A very shameful episode.
