Cheers, I'm almost hesitant to start it because it's so old. I was wondering if Airfix make any motorbike models still?

They have made some 24th and 12th scale racing bikes in recent years but they're not up to much.

Pity, I would have liked to get an Airfix one. I have a couple of imai Harley's which are pretty good and would have liked to get one to compare.

I'd get on a build it Col - I really enjoyed doing my first one,and have a second one (part started by the previous owner - I got both separately via Bay) to complete and re-paint - this time in the blue scheme. These are pretty difficult but not impossible to come across.

This one was an out of the box build, but for the next I will strip the nasty chrome plated parts (in bleach - Toilet Duck normally does the job nicely!) and re-spray them with AlcladII Chrome instead.
It is worth the extra effort.

Nice build. What did cross my mind was the colour of the tank? Is that the right colour or is it just my eyes when looking at the sprue in the box?

I don't know what shade of paint Honda actually used Col, and am not perfectionist enough to contact a Honda bike dealer to try and source some (although I have considered it for the orangey-gold colour to use on my Tamiya 1/6th CB750 Four). What you see there is just a few coats of trusty Humbrol 60 Scarlet.

Here is the next project in the blue colour scheme that I mentioned earlier:

It looks like the original owner may have lightened some Humbrol 52 Baltic Blue with 11 Silver, and has gotten pretty close to the right shade, so I will have to try and reproduce this when I come to paint it.

Nice one Col I built the CB750 Racer version of this back in the late 70's on holiday in Wales, it was basically the same kit but had a full fairing added to it would be nice to see the build on here mate.
