Le Mans Bentley

Post by Sissel »

Weeks ago I continued this Pyro kit. Bit late to update but...

Image

A lovely vintage kit. It came started and in this picture I have only put a few more pieces on. Wheels put together. These were painted in the middle on arrival.

I don't think I will airbrush this one as masking would be very tricky/hard.
Anyway I hope to make something decent of it.

Magnificent cars those Bentleys; I saw two at Dunsfold Wings and Wheels a few years back, blasting down the whole length of the runway....brilliant!
Looking forward to seeing your completed model
Best wishes

The Pyro Bentley seems to one of there most popular/obtainable kits especially on this side of the bond. I suspect importers picked cars that would appeal to European modellers as Pyro produced a lot of 50/60's American family cars with the old mix of European classics. I've their Dussenberg and it is a Dussie! ;-) I'll be watching to see how this one turns out.

Please don't expect too much, the kit came over 50% completed. It does seem basic, but allright as well. If I recall correctly, only thing left is wheels, windows and not much else. Well, painting... Interior seems to have been stuck in in a rush, but does look okay to me I suppose.

I knew I had pictures of a 30's era car from my trip to London last year. And whaddayaknow, it's the 1930 Bentley Speed Six Le Mans!

Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Thought the pictures were of the same car. :???:
Can't remember being more than one there, but there probably was. How am I suppose to remember, it was so long ago, like eh.. last year. :ha:
Comparing the photos I now see differences, so defo not same car.

I just know about the first one. And that is 6.5L.

Here's more info on it.
